The Tel Aviv University School of Medicine was founded in 1963 in response to the need for medical specialties. Today the Faculty of Medicine. Zakler is trained for 6 years by about 600 Israeli students for the Master’s degree; Approximately 300 American students earn their Master’s degree in 4 years under the US Medical Schools program. About 200 students study for 6 years at the Faculty of Dentistry to obtain the Doctor of Dentistry degree. And approximately 2,000 students earn bachelor’s degrees in medical specialties such as Communication Disorder, Nursing, Physiatrics, Occupational Disease Treatment, and others.

Since 1999, the curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine, namely the “Israel Program”, has gone through a lot of reforms. The new Medicine 2000+ program is the best opportunity to delve into self-study and focus on the humanistic and ethical aspects of medical practice, as well as develop strategies and tactics for solving medical problems.

School of Continuing Medical Education. Zakler is not only the largest in the country in terms of the number of specialists working in it, which numbers about 2,400 doctors, but is also one of the main schools of continuing medical education in Israel. Thanks to the lectures that are taught at the school, as well as through distance learning programs, the School helps Israeli specialists acquire modern knowledge in various fields of medicine and receive medical professions that meet the modern challenges of society. Postgraduate students study for Master’s degrees and PhD in Medical Sciences, a total of 800 students in all biomedical disciplines, with a special focus on an interdisciplinary approach and application of basic knowledge to solve problems in the field of biomedicine. Each student is given the opportunity to choose to conduct research according to their own taste and any topic.

Medical Research Center. Felsenstein is a distinctive high-level Israeli research center for the study of biomedicine. The center is located in the large clinical complex of the Medical Center. Due to its unique location, the center has the ability to conduct basic research on the basis of clinics. The Tel Aviv University Medical Library’s book collection is 250,000 printed and electronic materials, including: textbooks, monographs, periodicals, dissertations, about 400 journal subscriptions, over 4,000 e-journal subscriptions, and about 200 e-book subscriptions. The library’s collection is being replenished through new research and educational programs in collaboration with the departments and representatives of the Faculties of Biological Sciences and Medicine.
